Swift discovered a love for music from a young age, and quickly moved through roles in the children's theater and her first public appearance in front of a crowd of thousands. When Swift sang The Star-Spangled Banner in front of the Philadelphia 76ers at a game when she was 11. She was already composing songs. The next year she started playing the guitar. Swift became inspired to compose her own songs by country music artists genre such as Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. Swift's parents relocated her to Tennessee when she was 13 when they decided to sell their Pennsylvania farm. It allowed Swift to be more active in trying to find labels that would promote the country genre in Nashville.
